Puttopia's mini-golf robot uses a camera and AI-powered object tracking to find and follow the golf ball. It can detect position, distance, and movement in real time, letting it aim the perfect shot every time.
The robot moves using stepper motors that translate each movement into precise, measurable steps. This system allows smooth motion across the X and Y axes — every adjustment is calculated down to the millimeter for consistent accuracy.
At the center of it all is a Raspberry Pi computer running custom Python code. It handles image processing, coordinates communication, and controls the motors based on what the camera sees. It's the "brain" that turns the idea into action.
The coolest part — soon, you'll be able to play remotely! Through the Puttopia website, players will control the real robot live, putting from anywhere in the world. A USB camera feed will stream the course in real time, letting you aim, power up, and take the shot as if you were right there.
